book one: the lovely bones

i've finished the first book toward my reading goal, & i luvd it!
it was so good. i wish that i'd been able to give it more time, as it took me over a month & i've been hoping to read a book a month.
[i def started the month off reading two books,
one at home, one at work,
to avoid being without something
to read on a smoke break.]
so, now that it's read, i can see the movie, directed by Peter Jackson, which looks uh-mazing!

if you haven't read it yet, please do. it's really great.

now, to finish the other book, hopefully with enough time to enjoy another & be a book ahead!
[expert level is 15 books this year!]

have you read it? have you seen the movie?
what did you think?
[any books to recommend
i add to my list of "to read",
please comment them!
-you can also see my
virtual book shelf here!]

luvs it*

  1. ya the book wasn't bad, and neither was the movie, except it dragged on, as does every other movie Peter Jackson does.

  3. Oh, Lovely Bones is one of my favourite books! Loved loved loved it. The movie is okay, gets a bit trippy in parts but still good, the book is better though.

You've gotta read The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak. It's the most original story ever and just so so good.

  4. I loved The Lovely Bones as well - Alice Sebold is great. You should read her book Lucky, as well. It's a non-fiction autobiography about when she was raped. Very heavy but one of my favorite reads.

I also recommend reading Eat, Pray, Love. That movie is coming out soon too!

  5. OMG! I loved LOVED thisbook it was amazing, I also recomend Eat love Pray like the othe comenter said, as for the movie I am afraid I wont even bother with it, I feel it insulted the book, it was made to be a fantasy, it took away the reality of the tragedy that happened and the world we live in, perhaps I am too gloomy, but I wish it would have been real, and not all bubbly and sci-fi ish. Anyway. I am looking forward to your other reads!!
