hooray for boobies

So while i was shopping for my sisters birthday present yesterday, i was asked (in Spencer's Gifts) if i'd like to donate a dollar to breast cancer research & in exchange, i'd be the proud owner of a rock'n "i love boobies" bracelet.

of COURSE i said "Right On Doode, hook me up!"

I was later bombarded by compliments (& a few funny looks) that night at the bar & today by family members at my sisters family birthday party.

I think that when some smart cookie comes up with a funny (& a bit cheeky) way of making charity kool, everyone wins. It's so awesome to have donating money for amazing causes be "trendy".

The bracelets are available at Spencer's Gifts Stores (this link is to the site, bracelets are available in stores) & you can learn more about the foundation KEEP A BREAST at both websites (click for links)

I wanted to show a picture of the bracelet, but i'm kind of a deadbeat & didn't get to take a photo of mine, so for the time being, i've borrowed an image from the Keep a Breast blog.

well, according to my bracelet, i luvs boobies (mine anyway)

the death of a legend

George Carlin. May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008

i'm embarrassed that it took me this long to write this message.
i think i was waiting for the right thing to say, the perfect words to write to explain the feelings left behind by this wonderful man.
He's one of the worlds best with words & here i am, trying to portray something, anything to fit & i can't.
i read a beautiful article by Richard Zoglin & i've linked this page to it here.
in the article, Zoglin leaves us with a few of Carlin's best words, some more popularly known than others.

"I've been uplinked and downloaded. I've been inputted and outsourced. I know the upside of downsizing; I know the downside of upgrading. I'm a high-tech lowlife. A cutting-edge, state-of-the-art, bicoastal multitasker, and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond ..."

all the way to the not so happy & honestly, tear swelling...

"I sort of gave up on this whole human adventure a long time ago, divorced myself from it emotionally. I think the human race has squandered its gift and this country has squandered its promise. I think people in America sold out very cheaply, for sneakers and cheeseburgers. And I don't think it's fixable."

he was an absolutely brilliant man.

i saw him in concert in 2003 & i maintain that that was the best fucking first date that anyone could ever be taken on. (really wish that relationship had lasted! he seemed to get me right off the bat with that one!)

I'll never forget that he walked out on stage, old, but fucked if he cared, he was spry & you could see the spark in his eyes. he knew what he was about to say, & he knew that we couldn't have guessed if we tried.

he took center stage & said without a pause "You know what people don't talk about enough? Pussy farts!" -i nearly pissed my pants.

the rest of the show was a toss up between fart jokes & borderline extremely offending comments & observations. it was a fucking riot.

i heard about Mr.Carlin's death the morning after when i was sent a text message from an old friend & HUGE fan of Carlin's. The moment was pretty surreal as i looked at my phone in the foreground & could see the poster of George Carlin's face from the concert i had been too five years ago on my wall in the background. I responded to the text with a good 'ol 21st Century "OMG!?" & heard back "ya... it sucks big time."

that was about all that could be said. What do you say when an old man dies. It sucks big time.
he was a man, he was a legend, he was a friend to many through his comedy.

he taught us the non evils of the evil evil words shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker & tits...

he made us laugh, & for a moment, cry.

rest in peace dear friend. i hope we do you justice in your memory.

So... i'm passing it on. Check it out, then tell some friends, maybe this can be a step towards a happier, healthier world.

good job baseball kid, you did your job well, by being cute & delivering a clever message, i learned about the Foundation & have done your bidding by passing it on... (don't you just luv successful marketing?!)

M.Damon - keep'n it real!

FUCK YA MATT DAMON!

Spike TV's Guy's Choice Award was entertaining in many ways, but my FAV part was when DOUBLE WINNER Matt Damon dedicated his mic time to predicting the WIN of the Boston Celtics. He was, of course, BoOoOoed by the LA Fans (being IN LA that wasn't much of a gamble) & followed up the cries with "Like a true Boston fan, i'm happy to be the only one in the room rooting for my team!" When he got his SECOND award of the night (1st was for "Ass Kicker of the Year" won over Iron Man, 2nd was for "Man of the Year" won over Harrison freak'n Ford!) he said "OH, it's coming!"

hell ya Matt!

other winners of the night include:
  • Man of Honor - Adam Sandler
  • Alpha Male - Hugh Hefner
  • Next Big Thing - Megan Fox
  • Funniest Mother Fucker - Steve Carell
  • So Hot They're Famous - Tila Tequila
  • Brass Balls - Harrison Ford

- who wasn't there? Shia... ::tear:: although he did apear in 3 different winner montages...

move over Ferris!

Charlie Bartlett: This movie should totally be thought of as the Ferris Bueller's Day Off of the decade. It was sooooooo fucking good. Anton Yelchin (Alpha-Dog) is too cute & a perfect new icon for the 2000's. His on screen girlie Kat Dennings (40-year-old virgin) has the perfect balance between daddy drama (she's the daughter of the Principal, played by Robert Downy, Jr.) & totally mellow teenage chick. Tyler Hilton (One Tree Hill) was the bully you loved to love, even sporting a popped collar at one point! (haha luvs it - 80's styyle!)

-check out the stars of this movie in their upcoming projects!
  • Anton Yelchin:
    • New York, I Love You
      • With, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Portman, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Christiensen, Blake Lively & a million others! (PLus, both N.Portman & Scarlett Johanson are DIRECTING along with 11 other segement directors!)
  • Kat Dennings:
    • The House Bunny
      • With Anna Faris, Colin Hanks, Emma Stone, & Katherine McPhee.
    • Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist
      • With Micheal Cera!
  • Robert Downey, Jr.:

hot cute... best.
CBS's new summer indulgence Swingtown is pretty kool. This weeks episode focused around a last minute house warming party where Susan started ripping down wallpaper & getting her guests to draw on her bare walls. It looked like fun...

get'n high, get'n laid & GET OVER IT!

YES! Weeds is backkkk! Last night was the premiere of the 4th season of one of the best shows ever! The only flaw to weeds is that it's only a half an hour long. :o(
What an awesome show...

I will say though, apparently i wasn't paying much attention because i was SURE that i heard Showtime was picking up Secret Diary of a Call Girl for it's 2nd season, but when i sat down to watch it last night after Weeds, it was the first episode of the FIRST season... :o(
Do i seriously have to wait ANOTHER YEAR for season 2?!?!?! ughhhhhh DON'T LUV IT!

How can anyone not luvs him!?

So Shia is "in trouble" again?! This is ridiculous! First he gets in trouble for being drunk in a Walgreens... any other 21 year old drunk in Walgreen in the middle of the night walks away with a funny story to tell at parties, but Shia gets cuffed & now has something he needs to answer questions about for the next few months on every talk show known to man... Then ::gasp:: smoking outdoors! oh my! C'mon, seriously? It's a dumb fucking law anyway, what the hell are you supposed to do if you're a smoker in Burbank, CA? Dude, i don't think i'd last in Burbank for more than an hour if you can't smoke anywhere without getting a fucking ticket.
NOW the media is up Shia's ass about using a derogatory term for "gay" on a home movie with his friends 2 YEAR AGO! Holy shit, how desperate.

-Get over it, he's a good kid with a bad habit, we've all got 'em, leave him be.
(thanks justjared for the photo...)

Watch Weeds. Watch Secret Diary. Leave Shia alone. Luvs it*

beautiful things on the big screen!

Darjeeling Limited: I FINALLY saw this movie tonight. The Wes Anderson flick is as beautifully done as i expected. but all that it really sparked in me is the (once again) regretful wish that i could have been in this movie if i had gotten my shit together three or eight years ago... haha, it's an absolute piece of art. The colours & frame work in this movie are beyond breath taking. That's really all i can say about it. Wes Anderson has become one of my favs for a few reasons, but most of all, he knows how to frame a picture that makes your stomach flitter. his knowledge of building an amazing image makes me soooo jealous . All i can hope is that one day, he'll hire me to be an aspect in his on screen art.
Dear Wes Anderson. You are a FUCKING VISIONARY. i want to pick your brilliant brain. i luvs it all.

Marie Antoinette: After i watched Darjeeling, the channel was flicked over to Marie Antoinette (thank you J. Schwartman!) I have seen this movie before, but it seemed like an obvious fit for the encore. Another beautifully made flick w/ some of the most incredible imagery that i've seen in a while. ugh, i just luv the work on this movie. it's one of those films where you can FEEL the passion that the director (Sophia Coppola) had for the movie.
-ps: LUVS u Kirsten...

god i hope one day i can do something like that. To have sooo many people connect with you over your passion project. what a fucking dream come true.

ps- on the you-know-who front...

SHIA- gooooood luck! i know that filming for Transformers 2 started on Monday & my countdown clock has started!
