Trust him, he's a doctor...

I recently stopped by at one of my absolutely fav bloggies, ETC., ETC., ETC. hosted by my real life friend Ryan.

He has a new [&, as usual, awesome] segment, hosted by "The Pauper" called:

"Trust me, I'm a Doctor"

this entry was surrounding the topic of Chick Flicks that guys might like & a review of a flick i have yet to see [but really want to] - (500) Days of Summer.

i posted the following comment after reading...

"Well here's a twist, i have NOT seen (500), but my boyf has.
i stopped reading the review bc i haven't yet seen the flick & i luv both stars, so i want to see it.
the Boyf said it was "more depressing than i thought"... so i don't know if i'll be able to persuade him to watch it again.
but, hell, i'll be the one to do it..

Doctor, i'm going to give you the ultimate chick flick (for men?) debate topic...

Twilight.

Yes, it's a love story. Yes, it's become a dirty word in the language of men, i'm sure, but... that being said... I feel that asking my boyf (who is the only person i know in Cali since i moved here to be with him) to go see the third movie with me in the theatre is NOT the worst that could happen.
I would never ask him to see Sex & the City with me bc, unlike many women, i don't currently, nor ever plan or want, to keep his balls in a jar... i prefer them where they are. Twilight, on the other hand, i feel COULD be tolerable! There are vampires & werewolves & fighting & blood & all that good shit! So what if it's based on true love? I ask you, what movie doesn't have a dabble of love in there, somewhere?
Kyle loves Sarah in Terminator, Rocky loves Adrianne in Rocky, even the Godfather is focused around a wedding!

So, Doc, what's the prognosis? Do i have a pump wearing leg to stand on, or should i just "take two midol & call you in the morning"?

I gotta know!

as always, another wonderful entry that made me LOL.

xox
-spanky*"

Now, i'm interested.
what do you think?

Is there a chick flick you think that a guy would like? what do you think about what i wrote to my dear friends at ETC.?

I wanna know!

Now, i'm off to watch Harry Potter 4 with Bazinga.

-hmm... "Kids" movies that grown-ups can like... interesting...

merry merry merry*

teehee. to those of you that i texted this morning, i apologize for the repetition.

it's been a luvly holiday so far. i was up until 5:30am wrapping gifts, watching (the traditional) A Christmas Story Marathon on TBS & having xmas insomnia.

you'll shoot your eye out!
I remember, when i was little, we had a one of those (children of the 90's) cassette tapes with a read along book. It was of Rudolph and it was "tradition" to listen to the (15 mins long tape) over & over & over again until we (my sister & i) fell asleep. My sister is the type of person that can conk out in 5 seconds... i can be up all night trying to get some winks.
one year, i thought i saw the red glow of a nose in the sky. i was clearly either overly imaginative, or fucked in the head at a young age... hmm...

finally, sleep, for a few hours... visions of sugar plums, ribbons and misfit toys... just to be woken up by a sleepy mom so i can finish a few last wrappings for em butthead sis piece & pops.

gifts under the tree, packed, wrapped & ready to be torn into, i make sure to change into "cute pjs" & make up (pops, the photog, would be sure to catch me in full on morning monster mode).

we ripped open paper of green, red, white and blue & enjoyed watching each others reactions to the gifts we'd picked out. then.. they were all done.
my favourite thing i gave...

Alfred Hitchcock "The Birds" Tippi Hedren Barbie

[for ma.]

a few goodies to mention:
- express fedora alla ashley simpson-wentz (finally, i'll be fedorable too!)

- 2 pair ultra snuggley pj pants
- super soft pink sweater from vickies
- 2 ducks! (thanks daddy-o!)
- Twilight Scene It! (so AmeCakes, JenBunny, Em Butthead Sis Piece, Cheryl & myself can have an Edward Luv-a-thon Battle Royale)
- a Fleur's snitch necklace from trophies* etsy shop! (yesss!)
- glovies, thigh high socks, boots

&... (drum roll...)

a WEBBIE! (whooooooooop!)

nice.

we also went to see Sherlock Holmes (since the extended fam isn't coming until tomorrow...)
it was aweeeesommmmeeeeeee.

now, we're going to play the Twilight game. after i go smoke to try to get less full from the festive Chinese food we ate.
more later & video updates soon!

[xox]

have a very *spanky* christmas everyone!

"a night for celebrations" -breaking dawn

i did it. it's done. i finished.

i'm sad, but happy that i don't have to avoid anything twilight in fear that i'll have the end blown.

o man, stephanie meyer is sorta... evil. she wrote a character that is impossibly wonderful, incapable of being beaten.
wow. talk about a complex.

thank god this wasn't the ending...

i also caught up on last weeks SNL with Taylor Lautner. most of it wasn't that great, but there was one sketch that i luvd so much i had to play it for AmeCakes at work, Mom & Sis piece at home & now for you!

pah! how funny is that? "if those abs are real, then the dude that plays Jacob deserves an OSCAR!"

~*~

it's a saturday night & i'm sick... gross
i spent my saturday night watching a Muppet Christmas Carol with my sis, Em Butthead. We used to watch it all the time when we were younger, and, i'm sure you won't be shocked to know that i am all about watching movies/tv shows that i luvd when i was bitty.

the cat playing Scrooge as a young doode is a weird combo hybrid face. (one of those people that looks like two or more other people if they were smooshed together)

Raymond Coulthard: is a combo of Robert Pattinson & Jude Law... y'think? Em Butthead thought a dash of Ed Westwick, but i'm sticking to my two. aadding a 3rd can get dicey.

ya, i think so...

also, i finished twilight around 7:00pm... by 9 i'd eaten dinner & already read half of Go Ask Alice. ha

time for cold meds, tissues, tea, and down pillows.

::sniff, sniff::

hiatus.

this is my 180th post.
i now have 61 followers.
i'm taking a ::short:: break.
WHAT?! WHY!??!?!
for all of you who read Twilight, you'll understand... i'm within the last 200 pages of Breaking Dawn & i'm finding it harder & harder to put down. i'm so anxious to know how it ends that, honestly, i don't really want to do anything else until it's over.

it shouldn't take me very long, i can read pretty fast when i'm into it. but, in case life goes & fucks this up for me, i wanted you all to know, i'll be back, very soon, with another goal under my belt, ready to switch gears.
i'll miss you. try not to cry.
(haha, watch i finish it tonight, how dramatic am i?! hahahah)
but Spanky, what the hell are we going to do if you're not here blogging?!?!

don't do that, you sillies!
well, i'm glad you asked! If you haven't yet... then read this post about my massive giveaway! (it's the mom of all giveaways.. on this blog, so far, anyway!). & IF you haven't, what the hell are you waiting for? it's for a basket of awesome free stuff, helllloooooo!?

Of course, you can go visit the Bffer Nugg, JenBunny over at NovelistaBarista, but you have to promise to come back. She's a better blogger than me, don't let her suck you in & take you away from me.

You can go to bug AmeCakes over at ListeningAround & tell her that her (few) posts are bang'n. Maybe if we all bother the shit out of her, she'll start writting again!

of course always visit some of my other bloggie luvlies:

if you're kinda sad & in the mood for some poetic justice... visit "B" at Stars Like Little Fish. She makes me kinda happy sad. but i luv her writing.

visit Ryan at ETC., ETC., ETC. - Spanky's original duck like quack*. He has some wonderful insights on the best of all random subjects. (plus, of course, he's a hottie duck like quack! haha ::don't blush ryan!::)

get some advice from Miss Mercedes at How to Really Hold on to the Man of your Dreams! She's good... oh, she's good... (& she's pretty f'n Ramdiculous too! hey-ohhh!)

take a bite of the Irishy goodness with Conor from Pizza Box. A member of the newly formed "irish gang" (members include me, Spicy Spanky McHaggis - working title, Conor & JenBunny). plus, i mean, he's funny, & he's.. IRISH. (& soon to be another duck in the pond, woooop!)

stay for a sip with Nicole at My Teacups in Peony. her bloggie is just so pretty & fresh. plus, helloooo, she has a new ETSY shoppe!!!! It's called "With Love" & i was awesome enough to purchase a pair of her "holly" earrings (awe, like holly, that dog?) to be gifted in the giveaway! wooop!

get a little sinister with this rough & tough duck, Kris at Rantings of a Bitter Jarhead. (yes, sinister, his most recent post is called "Take your happy-go-lucky motivational speech about rainbows and sunshine and shove it up your ass..."). He's a cheery little quacker, but, don't let him fool you, he's been responsible for some comments that have really perked this little chick-a-dee right up. ::big smiles:: -weird, he also kinda reminds me of one, a few of my ex's... hmm..

last, but not least, one of my first bloggie babes, Elise at Without Rhyme or Reason. She's "so lovely" & always has the nicest things to say to me. I swear, this chick could be my sistah! Plus, she drops in tid-bits of her temporary life in Ireland that make me so jeal!!!

Dark Side of the Moon

As i told you all last week, i've been writing the "What's New is New" article for my companies MySpace page.

I'm really enjoying getting a chance to write about current topics & get PAID for it!!!

Here's my post for this week:

Dark Side of the Moon

The month of October is almost and, in true fashion, a lot of strange things are happening in the world, leading up to, what seems to be, a pretty weird Halloween.

In the past week, we saw NASA “bombing” the moon, everyone’s favorite Werewolf, Taylor Lautner look amazing in the pages of GQ magazine, joy rides in silver mylar space ships, and the upcoming release of “This Is It”, the touching story of the last days of the ultimate “Thriller” to be in theatres October 28th.

Halloween is the perfect time to allow yourself to be scared and raise the paranoia of the Boogie Man, monsters under the bed, and things that “go bump in the night”. The movie Paranormal Activity asked fear fans to demand that their local theatre screen the film, and after 1 million demands, it was released nationwide.

Performers: Grab your fake blood, vampire teeth and shreds of the un-dead’s threads, and go wild this year! If you’ve booked a Halloween party, or even if you have an upcoming public event, show your freaky side and make the audience scream! Remember, it’s always fun to get spooked, and being a clients “treat” this Halloween is sure to make them remember you for next year!

What do you think? Should i think about becoming a reporter? JenBunny thinks she can see me as one... i played one in a play in 8th grade... that was fun...

Have fun counting down the days to h.ween 2009!

Check in on all my "What's New" posts at www.MySpace.com/GigMasters

edward*

You know, I’ve never had much patience with Romeo.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 1, p.17

Yes, I'm obsessed... dumb AmeCakes & stupid JenBunny got me fucking addicted so bad, i think they're sick of hearing me go on about this damn book...

Sorry R. Pattinson, it's nothing personal, it's just that, i would never have cast you to play Edward. I think you're just too... awkward for my taste

I've seen a LOT of internet discussions about this subject and everyone seems to have an idea of who would be better.

Daronline.wordpress.com
thinks that everyone from one of my FAV hotties, Scott Michael Foster (Greek) to Chris Evans (Fantastic Four). I luv them both, but S.M.Foster is def not Edward, he's Cappy (waaaaay too goofy to be Edward) & Chris Evans is too old.... Johnny Storm is also too much of a clown to be Edward.

Scott Michael Foster

Chris Evans

Fans on the Twilight Facebook Dicussion Boards said actors such as Matt Dallas (Kyle XY), to Sean Farris (The Sleepover and that awesome show Reunion that i luvd, but it was CANCELED). No, Matt Dallas has way too much of a spacey look going on. Edward is INTENSE, not a space cadet. M.Dallas played a wide eyed, (seemingly thoguhtless) alien boy w/ no belly button... not really cut from the same fabric... &, Sean Faris is fucking fine... even got a little crooked smile... but i think he's a bit too old? (He's a little TOO cute...)

Matt Dallas

Sean Faris

This is on the Edward Cullen wiki page:

"Meyer reported on her website that the four most popular fan suggestions for actors to play Edward were Hayden Christensen, Robert Pattinson, Orlando Bloom and Gerard Way."
-to this, i say No, eh-no, no, & are you fucking kidding?

-here are a few of the other suggestions that i was ok with...

Colton Haynes:

yum! I think he's definitely a cutie, but to throw this copmlex of a roll at a model/starter actor... he'd hafta be an amazing raw talent...

Henry Cavill:

He's hot. Too old (not for me, but for Bella). Loved him in Stardust, but i didn't care for The Tudors.

Here's who I think should be Edward, fo' sho (with a few alterations to make my point - eyes and hair have been "edwardized"):

Shia LaBeouf:

I know, I know, he wouldn't make a good Edward... but he's just so fuck'n yummy!

Ed Westwick:
He looks like a vampire... c'mon. Maybe he's not charming enough to be Edward, but he should absolutely take a breather from the Upper East Side to wander around the forrest of Forks... at least the Volturi in Italy.. He's a perfect vampire!
Zac Efron:
He's just so fucking hot. Plus, he's got a lot of the necessary traits, he's got amazing bone structure, strong frame, sexy as hell, intense eyes, great smile... the only problem is that, somehow, dumb Vanessa Hudgens would end up as Bella... & i'd have to vomit. (she's ok in that sugar coated bratty, i'm realy jeal bc she's gorg & has a hot bf & is successful & way younger than me... thing.... what was i saying?)

click here to see the original photo, non-edwardized!

Chace Crawford:

i've thought that C. Crawford should have been Edward since the second i started caring about Twilight. He's perfect. He's not too old, he's not too lame, he's intense, but not scary, he's beautiful, but not girly. He'd need contacts, but then again, who the f wouldn't? If you ask me... he's the perfect Edward... he's who i'd cast... even though, the Edward in my head doesn't exsist, i think C. Crawford is the closest i could come. out of ALL these yum-monsters on this post!

click here to see the original photo, non-edwardized!

see! It's meant to be!

mmm, so many hot boys... off to read more of *eclipse*!
