Alexander McQueen: Fashionably Tragic

Fashionably Tragic, Alexander McQueen committed suicide, by hanging, & was found today in his flat in London, at the age of 40.

"It's horrible news. It's so sad to be in such a state of despair. Such a great talent, such poetry -- it's horrific,"
-Diane von Furstenberg

The twitter world is, of course, a flutter with messages being sent to the universe via "Alexander McQueen" & "RIP McQueen" trend topics.
[it kinda makes me gag thinking of
this terrible occurrence as a trend,
in any form.]

visiting the McQueen website will allow you to see this somber message, with no access to the pages content

"On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family.
Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this."

even though i could never afford anything he made, there's no way to not be absolutely awe-struck by his brilliance as a designer, a fashion architecht, and an eminent visionary.

Alexander McQueen (1969-2010)
Rest in Peace, you will be thoroughly missed, remembered, & forever celebrated.

[there is no "luvs it" silver lining for this post...]
