(((i hate when i start a post, get caught up in something else, then remember it weeks later, get mad at myself for not posting more often, & then go through the already written part to change things that make no sense, attempt to remember what else i was saying, & get back into it. so... here is goooes)))

I'm so obsessed with any sort of whimsical stories & i can't explain how stoked i get when i hear about new projects of old favorites.

I was SO sad that Beastly wasn't as good as i'd hoped. (it was... "eh." when it should have been "YAY!" - grr.)

I still have to go see Red Riding Hood (which i REALLLY wanted to see...)

a while ago i heard about not only one, but TWO new Snow White movies (which secretly pisses me off, bc i hate when two things that are the SAME, come out at the same time... it's like an automatic competition & it makes me sad, but o well...)

Snow White & the Huntsman

starring: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth & Charlize Theron

There isn't much information out yet, but i think K. Stewart will be an interesting Snow White. 

She def looks like her, but, depending on how the movie is going to go, the attitude will hafta be different from the traditional thought of Snow White. I can see this working out REALLY well, if it's done right.
As much as it pains me to say so, (& you all know how obsessed i am with Alice in Wonderland & Tim Burton), i don't think that his A-in-W flick turned out the way that i wanted it to. The vibe was just a bit too dark, which i hope does drag down this film.

Hey, K. Stew, haven't you learned by now that you're not supposed to eat the forbidden fruit? But, then again, i guess it works for you. Who am i to tell you to change it up, when you're the one that always lands the hottie in the end.

The Brothers Grimm: Snow White

directed by Tarsem Singh

Starring: Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane

I don't know much about this one, either, but the imdb.com plot says it's "a dark twist", so maybe this will be the creepier of the two flicks.
Snow White, in this version, is Lily Collins (Phil Collins daughter who has been in a few things, but i don't recognize her, other than a short stint on 90210). She's cute, def, but i'll be more partial to K. Stew from the gate. (can't help but be biased, luvs me some K. Stew, in all her awkward glory).

I also luvs me some Nathan Lane & i've always been a fan of Julia Roberts (more than Charlize, sorry CT).

I've never seen any of the films directed by Tarsem Singh, & this is listed as Rupert Sanders' first project, so, i guess it's a draw!
We'll have to see what else comes out to know which one will be in the front running.

7 other things:

1. i'm very excited because my lil sis is coming to visit me tomorrow. i haven't seen her since January & she's never been to Cali! Whooop!

2. i went to a very awesome thing, the opening night gala event for the LA Antique Show in Santa Monica where there was an exhibit from the Reform Gallery in LA which has a large (or.. the largest?) collection of Paul McCobb (my grandfather)'s furniture. He was a mid century furniture designer & my Mothers Daddy!

3. i've read the first four books of the Blue Bloods series. I have book number 5, which i'm trying to hold off on, so i can read it before number 6 comes out, which i believe will be in October. They should DEF be movies & i have plenty of ideas on the cast. I hope i remember to post my thoughts on this!

 i've also read a few more books by Ellen Hopkins; Impulse, Identical (fav) & i'm now reading Tricks.

7. it's a late update, but Travy Pants (Bazinga Baby) & i celebrated our One Year Anniversary in March. He took me to a lovely dinner at the GORGEOUS Orange Hill Restaurant in Anaheim, CA.

one more thing i'll say super fast: i read in Us Weekly that ABC is considering sending General Hospital to the morgue to lie with Days of Our Lives & All My Children, to make room for a BOGUS talk show with Katie Kuric. To this, my Mom (& only other known avid GH fan) said "I hope that Sonny doesn't go rogue" & i said "if they cancel my stories, i'll go fucking ROGUE".

So, let it be known, i will NOT be happy if is taken away from me. juuuust say'n...

Too Hot Tuesday: Dominic Zamprogna

[yes, it's Wednesday, i'm late, but yesterday sucked & today i'm posting, so don't boohoo that i'm bringing you some Wednesday yum!]

He first showed up in General Hospital as Dominic Pirelli, a low end Mobster working for Claudia Zacchara, Sonny's wife, but was later revealed as Undercover Officer, Dante Falconeri, daughter of Olivia Falconeri (who currently dates a past Too Hot Tuesday celebu-duck, Brandon Barash who plays Johnny Zacchara) and (even though it's not yet revealed to him) son of Sonny Corinthos (aka, half brother to Morgan, Michael and Kristina). The moment i saw him, brusied and shot in the back woods between Carly Corinthos Jacks house and Sonny Corinthos house, running into and holding hostage Morgan Conrinthos, i recognized him, but i STILL can't figure out what from.
all i know is that he's a yum monster & i'm thankful every weekday that i thought to start TiVoing the Day Time Soap to soak into before bed everynight.

Dominic Zamprogna

i've reviewed this 30-yr-old's imdb.com listing a million times, Google Imaged him, looking for some other source to ignite the curiosity light bulb above my little blonde head, but i can't seem to figure it out.

[which, anyone that has spent time with me knows, this is usually a very good talent of mine, & when i fail, i get pissssed!]

unfortunately, i've begun to settle, assuming that i'm thinking of either the Lifetime movie "Hostile Makeover" or another [sorry, not so great, but typical] Lifetime movie, "Engaged to Kill". he's not as cute in this movie. i think a lot of it comes from the scruffy hair, crooked, confident smile, and, the fact that we know, underneath the Mobster front, he's a down-right, honest cop.

Dominic's character "Dominic/Dante" has recently made an impression on my girl, Lulu Spencer on the show... & damn, Lulu is a lucky girl. The real Dominic recently got hitched to his long term girlfriend, Linda Leslie! (i'm jeal... but..) Congrats!!!

So this Too Hot Tuesday (ehem... Wednesday... ) is for you Dominic/Dominic/Dante...

My bestie, Novelista Barista told me to fill out this little survey after i said that i felt i wasn't writing enough about myself on MY blog. silly me. So, here's just a little bit to get to know the wonder that is Spanky. :o)

I'm also going to start posting a lot more about life & less about the finer things (aka my Material World & Superficial Powers)

1. Dealt with the complainers of the Entertainment world (aka, went to work as a CS Rep)
2. Had margs at Viva Zapatta with some girlfriends (mango marg in mason jars... sounds poetic)
3. Caught up on some Tivo
4. Ate some Spinach & Broccoli Marg pizza. (yum)
5. Drank 2 Red Bulls within 2 hours (peppy!)
6. Read some of my current book, Edie: American Girl. (it's pretty good!)
7. Bitched & Moaned about the humidity and the lack of time i have to do anything.
8. Wore a brown dress with a pretty necklace (& parted my hair WAY to the side for a change.)
   

Eight things I wish I could do:

1. Move. I'd like an apartment in NYC, a Brownstone in Boston, a Beach House in Nantucket & a House in Cali... to start.
2. Fill a walk-in closet (like Carrie in Sex and the City).
3. Have a clothing line.
4. Read faster so that i could get through my books faster than 1 a month if i'm lucky.
5. Freeze time for everyone but me. It'd be nice to have the ability to stop time for days to get to sleep, catch up on TV, write, read, & just be w/o deadlines, time & people bugging me!
6. Direct a movie of my favourite book Weetzie Bat.
7. Meet a nice guy (wow.. i'm surprised i didn't think of this until #7... oo, lucky number 7!)
8. Have flawless skin & no split ends.

Too Hot Tuesdays!

Welcome to the 2nd Too Hot Tuesdays!

By now you know that i like to tivo shows that i can consistantly watch. I used to watch Beverly HIlls 90210 a few years back because it was on eveyday on soap net & it was a constant in my life (i like constants like that, it's comforting). I then moved through 7th heaven, Melrose Place, Everwood, One Tree Hill, etc., etc. I've recently gotten sucked back into the never disappointing day time soap General Hospital. My fav character? obvi it's Maxie Jones (played by my Day Time Idol Kristen Storms). Her romance with Spinelli is sweet & endearing... but he's nooo Johnny Zacchara!

Brandon Barash

Brandon has played yummy Johnny, the Mafia heir bad boy on General Hospital, since 2007 & only about 9 months in was named one of the top 25 sexiest men in Soaps! oOoOo...
After appearing in 3 episodes of Gilmore girls as Jamie, and in 4 episodes of 24, Brandon landed the role in GH.


like a lot of my fav hotties, he's not just a one hit wonder, oh no... Brandon siiings (swoon) & plays the piano. Unfortunately, i can't find a very good video (quality is bad in all of them).


the gorgeous hunkie will be 30 in October and luvs Baseball & apperently, SKY DIVING! (what a tough guy!)

Sorry Brandon for making your post a short one. i can't wait to go up to bed & watch my tivo'd General Hospital!
