get my mind off my money...

I can't believe this.

I'm out w/ Bazinga for his birthday, yesterday, & after buying his bday breaky, i check my account, which i knew was low, but just wanted to make sure that we could go to GameStop, as planned, to get him a few games for a gift.

.....
-$26.00

ummmmmmmmmm... there was DEF supposed to be AT LEAST $150 in there, whaaaat the fuuuuck?!

I call my 'rents & it turns out that MY account has been overdrawn to provide funds for "a related account"... (thanks mom & dad...)

So, i'm out the $150 that they actually had to loan ME bc my goddamn unemployment checks aren't coming!
I call unemployment to try to see what the deal is because the last check i had gotten was on the 15th & i'm sitting there, penniless, on the 25th!

"I'm sorry, but it seems that your checks have been put on hold/ made void sue to your failure to appear at your Profiling Meeting. Please report tot he Danbury, CT office."

UMMMMMMM - i LIVE IN CALIFORNIA NOW!?!

WHAT MEETING?!!?
NO ONE EVER TOLD ME ABOUT ANY MEETING!!!!

"the aproximate wait time to speak to the next available representative is 44 minutes".

awesome, so i can wrack up my cell phone bill while i wait to hear that someone isn't giving me money to pay for it... on my boyfs bday, in the parking lot of a shopping centre... CLICK.

Now i have to figure out how to get around calling the GD unemployment office w/o having to use ALL my minutes & figure out WHY no one told me i had to go to some meeting! FUCK.

This whole plan of moving to Cali was all balancing on the fact that i'd have money coming in while i looked for a job in this crap economy!

---on a lighter side.. Our hometown friend B.Verb took us out for Travzinga's bday, which was SUPER sweet of him. We went to the Improv Comedy Club in Ontario, CA for dinner, drinks & to see Mike Epps.
it was awesome. We were LITERALLY in the FRONT ROW, my purse was sitting ON STAGE! I was nervous that we were going to get ragged on during the act, but maybe we just aren't funny looking? We got nothing :( I even told them it was Travzinga's bday, when i snuck out to go smoke before the show & after dinner. Nothing. :( poo on that!

We really WANT to go see Tom Green who will be at the Improv in Irvine (5 mins from our apartment) but who knows if we'll even be able to afford the $25 tickets. ugh. How sad. I can't remember the last time i wasn't able to throw down a measley $25 for anything!

i miss money. fuck.
silver lining: um... well, T & i had a pretty nice little "Party of 2" birthday party back home when we got back. Since i had no money to buy him a present, i guess, i had to let him unwrap me ;)

m.i.a.

hey my luvies.

Sorry i've been missing in action for a few days.
i've been half a busy little worker bee trying to organize my room & get everything into it's place.
i've actually thrown clothes away (who ever would have thought it was possible!), packed up some old things, bought a million organizer thingers, took down some ancient posters & hung up my *new & improved* goals board (OCD OCD OCD OCD... haha)
[see all my ducks?!]
i basically spent the weekend in my room cleaning & straightening things up, & then i went out Thursday, Friday & Saturday night w/ Travy.

Thursday, T & i went to one of the Asian Fusion places in town, where our really good friend is the bartender. Little did we know, he had called out sick, so we didn't get to see him, but i did have some uh-mazing Shrimp Tempora Sushi, Avacado Cucumber Rolls &, of course, some yumtastic Pinot Grigio [luvs the vino!] Finished the meal with drool worth fried bananas. omgggg...
[yum.]
We ended up at the local watering hole w/ my ex, & our really good friend, Kerm. We chilled there for a while.

Friday, we went back to "the local watering hole" & chilled, again, w/ Kerm. We saw our friends Blondie & her bf Bergie-berg. With a blizzard outside, & my car under a mound of snow, T drove, so i opted to get shitfaced.
Vodka Tonic, Shot, Shot, Lava Lamp Martini, Beer, Beer... Vodka Tonic... beer... beer... beer...
i got niiiice & toasted. We went back to Kerms w/ Bergie for a while, stopped at some other late night house party[ish] thing &, after walking all over the small town in the snow, & my damn heels, i was to' up & ready for bed.
Saturday, we went out for our friend BD's birthday & had a pretty good time,
'cept for the fact that She Who Shall Not Be Named was there, in her usual form, getting drunk & being obnoxious. T even told me that, a few times in the night, she had come up to him asking why i "said this" or "said that"... ya.. i hadn't said anything. T knew, bc he'd been w/ me all night! that didn't matter, i guess. Once she had something in her head, she was set on making it drama.
gag.

All in all, T & i had a blasty. We had drinks, talked to friends, saw good people we haven't seen in a while, watched BD get progressively drunker, as he damn well should on his bday!

i'm proud of myself though, even though, later, at my house, w/ just T, i did let it out that she'd really pissed me off, i didn't let it be seen while we were out. I didn't make a big [or even a small] deal over it at all.

what did you do this weekend?
did YOU have any fun drinks that you wanna tell me about? I'm alllways looking for something new & fun to have at the bar!

*happy birthday to the king*

As you all know, I work at an online booking agent that hooks clients up with performers, from; string quartets, to pony rides, strippers to Elvis impersonators.
The "elvii" are, by far the biggest attraction
[people are weird].
but, since we def must attribute a lot of the money we make to Elvis' honour, & he really was *The King*, we've opted to celebrate (in our own way) today.
Some of you konw that i've been lucky enough to score a position [i don't think it's written in my offical job description] where i get to work on Social Media efforts. Up until 2010 [because i was honestly getting so tired of it] i was the companies Twitter Representative. I've moved on to Facebook and I still write one of the "articles" for our MySpace Page.
I really liked what i wrote this week for Elvis, so i've decided to post it here as well. Read it if you'd like.
If you can't get enough of Spanky, you can always visit the GigMasters Facebook Fan Page to get a taste of the "Professional Spanky" who calls herself "Sara".
[weird]
So, withouth further adu (as the minutes tick away at the lunch time hour & i still would like to go smoke...)

What's New is New: Happy Birthday to The King
January 8th, 2010
To celebrate Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday this Friday, January 8th, 2010, Sony Music Entertainment has released a 25 track CD, “Elvis 75”. The CD is available on Amazon and iTunes, and features all the best hits, including; Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, I Can’t Help Falling in Love, All Shook Up, and Suspicious Minds (all GigMasters favorites). We plan to swivel our hips and curl our lips all day long to these classic songs!
We’re not the only ones that will be celebrating. All over the country parties and events have been planned for the King of Rock. Wife, Priscilla and daughter, Lisa Marie will attend a cake cutting ceremony in Graceland, while the lazier fans will snuggle up with a grilled peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich to watch TMC’s all day Elvis movie marathon.
What better way to immortalize the legend than being made into a Mattel Barbie figure? That’s right! The King of Rock was frozen in plastic in 2009 and sold to collectors and fanatics everywhere. The doll is available online, but we suggest buying two, one to keep and one to play with!
Planning to visit Sin City? Discounted ticket will be available for $75 on January 8th for the new show, Cirque du Soleil’s Viva ELVIS, at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas!
Performers: Even if you’re not an Elvis Impersonator, chances are you know the tunes and have some sweet moves. Break out an Elvis song or two at your events this year. Educate your clients that this year marks an important anniversary for all musicians. If you’re the farthest thing from the Kings Rock sound, mix it up with some awesome covers in different genres. You can ALWAYS send them to us! [buzz@gigmasters.com]
Clients: Any day is a better day with some seriously Rock’n sounds, and our Elvis Impersonators bring that thrill all year round. Hire an Elvis Impersonator for a birthday surprise for a friend, or better yet, a co-worker! Have an Elvis remembrance party where all your guests are greeted with a red silk scarf and the winner of your hip swivel contest gets a pair of killer gold aviators. Hire a caricaturist to draw everyone as Elvis or a Balloon Twister to make ready to rock balloon guitars. Have fun with it, the King of Rock doesn’t turn 75 every year!

i'll also add that this sexy little number USED to be a member of my site, but expired in September. I may have to make some calls & try to bring him back. His name is Victor Trevino Jr. & he's de-lish!

now that's what i call a hunka-hunka-burn'n luv!

i misses you!

Hi luvies,

I'm seriously missing my bloggie buddies.
I thought I'd try to drop a quick line to let you all know that i'm still here, i'm just on a bit of a crazy train these days.

My sis-piece started college. I've been boo-hoo'n a little bit. I already really miss her & it's only been since Saturday. My birthday was last Thursday (woohoo, 23!) but that meant a ton of shit to do. Party preperations (which cleaned my bank account out, happy birthday to me...) then the stress of cleaning, setting up & then, the day of.... the MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF RAIN which turned my classy backyard party (well, as classy as one can be with a Keg & Vodka Sno-Cones) into a mini Woodstock mud party. eek!

The Jingle Contest project that i wrote about before for work is finally coming to a close and i have a lot of last minute work to do on that (stayed an extra, unpaid half hour doing some final touches today, ugh).

SCHOOL! I'm going back!

Finally! I've registered for classes again after a year & a half of being in between schools & having my Associates Degree & wanting to work toward a BA. I'm stoked, but, shit, i'm stress'n like woah. Full Time work & even just Part Time online school is gunna be wicked hard work, in a biggg way.

jinky's y'all...

i really hope that i'll be able to figure out my timing so that i can still be here for all of you fancies.

also...

drum roll...

i have a winner!

Thank you Scarlet Begonias from Once in a While You Get Shown the Light! Your photo was my fav! i'm luv'n the peace & luv vibe, and of course, you all know my passion for the Beatles. dig it.

please let me know your e-mail address so that i can contact you about your Prize! OoOoOoLaLa!

iPhone in transit!!!

It's 1 week away from my Corporate Birthday (& a week & a month from my life birthday...). Every employee at my job gets a phone (either iPhone or BlackBerry) on their 1 year anniversary & the company picks up the monthly bill! (awesome.) So, i chose an iPhone! Lucky little girl that I am, i was the last in the company to reach a year (newest hire, still the baby...) but, being the baby has it's perks! I get the 3GS! muahhahaha! I'll be the ONLY ONE to get the new super awesome sicktastic amaze-phone! whoooop!

but... my little iPhone can't be NAKED!!! So, like my Barbies, my teddy bears & my puppy... i'll have to buy it clothes!

So many choices.... i need help!!!

Which do you like the best?!

I was thinking of going pink... since my phone now is pink, my camera is pink, i like pink...

but, then again, green really is a great colour... maybe i should go for that one...?

I could definitely see myself with one of these cute little green phones... i like neon green, i like neon pink... but then i find the "shocking collection"!!!

one in pink, one in green, what should i do?!?! browse, keep browsing, maybe something will hit me that i REALLY love...

I can def see myself going pretty funky, a bit more fabulous than the others... less practical, but definitely closer to the Paris Hilton t-mobile sidekick i've wanted to own for 5 years...

(this one rings in at $314.04 - jinkeys!!!)

or then there are ones that are just down right gaudy as hell...

i don't even know what you'd DO with those ones... yikes...

I think that i might go with something sleek, simple & not mentioning any of the previous things on this post...

what do you think? i need your help, your opinions, your thoughts & your ideas! (plus, if you know any other fabulous options, lemme have 'em!)

also.. these were found by my work buddy Dave & just sent to me... i think they're pretty sweet... but i dunno how protective felt actually is... i dig the game boy one & i'm all over that old school Nintendo controller!

Manic Mondays!

Planning a summer event can be fun, more fun sometimes than a winter event, because you can't wait to fire up the grill, set up a few picnic tables a frolic around the night air barefoot and happy catching fireflies, or.. more likely... sneaking off into a dark corner or sand dune w/ a sandy haired beach baber...

but.. not ALL of the corners should be pitch black. Probably the best part of planning a summer party is the decorations!!! & what better decoration, than...

Lights!

Paper lanterns, twinkle lights, candles & tiki torches everywhere with flickering flames in crystals strung from the trees. beautiful!

This amazing site LunaBazaar.com has everything from beautiful paper lanterns in every colour, size and price you can imagine, they have printed & square, cheap & more pricey. So many paper lanterns i can barely contain myself! They also have beautiful glass vases, these gorgeous water lily tea light holders, paper parasals, & even Budah statues for the karmically inclined.

I've been thinking about what to do for my upcoming birthday (hint hint, nudge nudge) & i can't think of too many things i'd rather do than eat a little, drink a lot & dance like mad on a beach with friends surrounded by

umbrellas dripping with twinkle lights, warmed by a bon fire, and only being able to see the stars reflecting off the water & the people around me being lit up by these gorgeous paper lanters.

can we say fuck'n magical? what a way to bring in 23. You can best believe that's what my Wedding Reception will be... i am determined. Also... this adorable site hotdateideas.com says set up some cutsie lanterns & have yourself a little late night picnic by lantern light... awe!

it's just another manic monday...
