"Short term.....I wish I had a Valentine!  I've been so busy with my new job and moving into the city, that I haven't had any time to get out there and meet some cute boys!  I'll be celebrating this day of love with some good friends, but it would be nice to get some smoochin* in there too :)

Long term.... I wish that I could come up with one of those groundbreaking, yet simple ideas for a website. Something that mixes social media and the arts, that's cheeky, but also has depth, with a non-profit, charity element thrown in. 
I wish for the labor of love."

Alexander McQueen: Fashionably Tragic

Fashionably Tragic, Alexander McQueen committed suicide, by hanging, & was found today in his flat in London, at the age of 40.

The twitter world is, of course, a flutter with messages being sent to the universe via "Alexander McQueen" & "RIP McQueen" trend topics.

this terrible occurrence as a trend, 

in any form.]

"On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family.

Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this."

even though i could never afford anything he made, there's no way to not be absolutely awe-struck by his brilliance as a designer, a fashion architecht, and an eminent visionary.

book one: the lovely bones

i've finished the first book toward my reading goal, & i luvd it!

it was so good. i wish that i'd been able to give it more time, as it took me over a month & i've been hoping to read a book a month.

[i def started the month off reading two books,

one at home, one at work,

to avoid being without something 

to read on a smoke break.]

so, now that it's read, i can see the movie, directed by Peter Jackson, which looks uh-mazing!
 
if you haven't read it yet, please do. it's really great.
 
now, to finish the other book, hopefully with enough time to enjoy another & be a book ahead!

I will be joining the awareness efforts this friday, february 12th, by writing "love" on my arm & taking a photo.
